Specializes in Asset Integrity Management, quality control, welding, NDT, corrosion control, maintenance and fit for service inspection of Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Piping and Structures in industries of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Plant, Steel mill, Alcoholic Beverages and Heavy Industry.
Recognized by Major Oil & Gas Operators in Myanmar for inspection of pressure equipment manufacturing and welding engineering, in-service inspection of Process Piping, PSV testing witness and recertification, as well as quality control in major painting campaigns at offshore and onshore facilities.
To date, M.I.T has already certified local welders of about 1158 welders as per ASME IX, AWS D 1.1.
In training, M.I.T conducted qualified welders, AWS-CWI certified Welding Inspector, Welding trainer courses (including Yadana Welding School of Ministry of Education, supported by Total E&P Myanmar), API 510/570 Inspector exam preparation courses, Inspection Engineer course, NDT-MT/PT/UT trainings, Welding Engineering course, Crane Operator certification/training, rigging& slinging training (Approved by Total & Petronas), Painting Inspector, PSV trainings for Oil & Gas and Heavy Industry.

U Than Tun Zaw, founder of MIT, has worked abroad for 15 years as a welding, inspection engineer & technical instructor in Malaysia, Korea. While teaching abroad, realized that a great need for welding professionals in Myanmar. MIT was formed to open a welding and inspection training school with about 30 engineers and a training school.
Although MIT is a private entity, the certificate obtained can be used legally. More than 700 have been certified and including some are trained. MIT contribute to the spread of technology and the advancement of technology.
